How to send web articles to your reMarkable

Step by step: connect your reMarkable once, then send any article from Chrome or from the iPhone share sheet as handwritten pen strokes.

Remarkify is a Chrome extension and an iPhone and iPad app. You select text on a web page, or share a page from your phone, and it arrives in your reMarkable library as handwritten pen strokes you can erase, move and write around. This page walks through the whole path once: account, pairing, sending, and finding the notebook on your tablet.

It works with reMarkable 1, reMarkable 2, Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move. Everything is delivered through your reMarkable cloud account, so the tablet needs to sync.

Set up once

  1. Create your account

Go to remarkify.app/onboarding and sign in with Apple or Google. New accounts get 5 free conversions, no card needed. One send to your reMarkable is one conversion, however long the article is.

  2. Get a one-time code from reMarkable

Open my.remarkable.com/device/desktop/connect and sign in with your reMarkable account. It shows a one-time code of eight lowercase letters.

  3. Paste the code and pick your tablet

Paste the code into Remarkify and choose your model, so pages are laid out for your screen. Connecting can take up to 30 seconds. You only do this once. Details are in Getting started.

Send from Chrome

  1. Install the extension

Add Remarkify from the Chrome Web Store, click its icon and choose Sign in. Once you sign in on the remarkify.app tab that opens, the extension picks up your session by itself.

  2. Select the text you want

Select a quote, a section or the whole article. Menus, share buttons and comments inside your selection come along too, so select only what you want to keep.

  3. Right-click and choose Send to reMarkable

A small notice in the corner of the page tells you it is converting, then that it was sent. You can close the tab right away; the conversion runs on Remarkify's servers.

Send from iPhone or iPad

  1. Install the app and sign in

Get Remarkify from the App Store and sign in with Apple, or with the same Google account you use on the web. Your account, settings and credits are shared with the website and the Chrome extension.

  2. Open the share sheet

In Safari or any app, select a passage to send just that part, or share the page itself to send the article. Tap Share, then Remarkify. If it is not in the row of apps, scroll to the end, tap More and turn it on.

  3. Trim, pick an ink color and send

The text opens in a small editor. Remove what you don't need, change ink colors, then tap Send to reMarkable.

Open it on your tablet

The notebook appears at the top level of your reMarkable library as soon as the tablet syncs. Everything you send is also listed in History, where you can open it or resend it. A resend counts as another conversion.

Change how it looks

Your defaults live in Preferences on the web and under Account in the app: font family and size, pen type and one of 9 ink colors, line spacing, automatic pagination and the notebook name. You can also write in a font built from your own handwriting, and have photos redrawn as pen strokes in one of several image styles.
